Teaching the tools of communication

A professional education prototype built to help congressional communicators use their tools with confidence and judgment.

Teaching the tools of communication

The challenge

Communications professionals need practical, role-specific instruction rather than generic introductions to a platform.

The idea

Develop a wider learning architecture organized around professional disciplines, with a completed course as proof of how the system could work.

The work

Designed The School within National Communicator, spanning general communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, professional development, and media production. Its substantive instructional prototype was a 15-lesson Congressional Twitter course.

What it shows

The course covered the effective professional use of Twitter for congressional media relations, live events, engagement, publishing, and platform analytics. Fifteen lessons were substantively completed.
